| Troubleshooting |
|
|
When I run ChartViews 2 I get a "Failed to load control 'Pdf' from pdf.ocx" error. |
| |
This problem can be due to a number of different things:
You have a certain version of Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 or lower that is incompatible with ChartViews 2.
You do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed
You have recently downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 and are having problems.
You have a certain version of Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 or lower that is incompatible with ChartViews 2
Some versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 and lower are incompatible with ChartViews 2. Most of version 5 will work with ChartViews and version 6 is found to be conpatible without any problems. To fix this problem download Adobe Acrobat Reader 6 which is fully compatible with ChartViews 2. Adobe Acrobat 6 can be downloaded here
You do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed
Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed to run ChartViews 2 and is not supplied with ChartViews due to licensing laws. You can download Adobe Acrobat Version 6 here
You have recently downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 and are having problems.
Adobe changed the files used when they released version 7 and therefore ChartViews cannot find the Adobe Acrobat Reader components. I have an alternative version of ChartViews 2 that will run with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7, if you require this please email me on chartviews@xhytex.com with your name, order id, and request. I am currently working on a patch for download which can fix this.

Do I have to convert PDF charts to BMP?
|
| No, ChartViews 2 can view PDF files just as well as BMP or any other image (e.g. JPEG, GIF) |
|
How can I view Jeppesen charts with ChartViews 2?
|
| Unfortunately Jeppesen uses its own format for charts therefore ChartViews is unable to open these files. You can however take a screenshot of a Jeppesen chart and save it as a BMP or other format to be viewed with ChartViews 2. |

Will ChartViews 2 work when flight sim is in full screen mode?
|
| ChartViews 2 DOES NOT work when flight sim is in full screen mode as ChartViews 2 is a standalone program and only works when your flight sim is in window mode. This is similar to many flight sim utilities anyway so this may not cause a problem |
